This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Position Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Engineering. Manufacturing Engineering interns help translate engineering definition into safe, repeatable, and efficient production processes. Interns may support build plans, methods, work instructions, tooling and equipment, producibility, process capability, and production issue resolution while working directly with mechanics, quality, design engineering, and operations.

Potential internship assignments may include:

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing build plans, methods, and work instructions
  • Support production issues, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions
  • Evaluate producibility, process capability, tooling, equipment, and factory readiness
  • Improve manufacturing processes for safety, quality, cost, flow, and cycle time

These positions are expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Wichita, KS.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate or graduate ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Ability to work full-time during Summer 2027

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Passion for the aerospace industry and interest and enthusiasm for a career at Boeing
  • Academic excellence (GPA of 3.0 or higher)
  • Previous related internship or work experience and/or involvement with student or civic organizations
  • Majoring in one of the following: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other related fields
  • The ability to relocate and work onsite

Summary pay range: Min: $20.55/hr - Max: $34.42/hr
