How are performance and development addressed by managers at Boeing?

Boeing believes employees thrive when they receive regular, meaningful feedback and have clear expectations for their development. The Performance & Development process enables employees to do their best work and promotes a culture of unity and accountability through the Values and Behaviors. At the end of the year, employees and managers have a feedback conversation to discuss how well a teammate performed on their goals and embraced the Values and Behaviors. The ratings for both “what” employees accomplish (goals) and “how” they achieve those goals (Values and Behaviors) determines their rewards and incentives.

Because building a strong culture is so important, the framework is designed to reward employees who live the Values and Behaviors more than employees who accomplish goals but do not demonstrate the Values and Behaviors.
