Job Description

At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. We’re committed to fostering an environment for every teammate that’s welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunity for professional growth. Find your future with us.

At Boeing, we are all innovators on a mission to connect, protect, explore and inspire. From the seabed to outer space, you'll learn and grow while contributing to work that shapes the world. Find your future with us!

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels, including Experienced and Senior Level Flight Deck & Systems Engineers located in Neu-Isenburg, who will join a Flight Deck, Systems, & Human Factors Engineering team that defines, builds, tests, and certifies the systems, flight deck functions, and avionics at the heart of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

We operate at the intersection where engineering meets software. In small, highly skilled, multi-national teams, we solve today's complex problems while keeping the future in mind. We work as integrated product teams: systems engineering defines what the airplane needs, software implements it, and systems engineering validates it, all in one place, close to the programs we support.

At any given moment, tens of thousands of flight crews around the world are operating in the flight decks of Boeing-designed airplanes, and our deep flight deck domain knowledge, built over years of program delivery, shapes systems that pilots trust, advance aviation safety, and improve operational efficiency. The systems and flight decks you design will fly for decades and connect the entire globe.

The successful Flight Deck & Systems team member has a passion for aviation and engineering, and enjoys working with a team of pilots, engineers, human factors specialists, software engineers, and customers who share that same passion.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions, including models and algorithms, for complex systems engineering tasks across flight deck functions, avionics, and their software and design.
  • Establish and refine system requirements for new functions on existing and future airplane models, and translate them into software requirements.
  • Design, test, and certify the behavior, interfaces, and human-machine interaction of avionics systems and flight deck functions, from early concept through service life.
  • Support the development of avionics functions and safety enhancements (e.g., surveillance and alerting), from idea through certification, including safety and human factors assessments (e.g., FHA/SSA, human-in-the-loop evaluations).
  • Prototype and validate systems, flight deck interfaces, and displays through analysis, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, flight deck simulators, and flight test airplanes.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, human factors specialists, designers, and pilots, and build tools and processes (including agentic AI workflows) that make our engineering work faster and better.

Engineers in this position are expected to independently work assignments, collaborate with teammates, and receive tasking from a lead engineer.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Track record of applying expertise in simulation and modeling, Model Based Systems Engineering, and model-based development tools such as MATLAB Simulink
  • Track record of applying expertise in defining systems and translating system-level requirements and models into software requirements
  • Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 (Experienced): 7+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4 (Senior): 12+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Track record of applying expertise in flight deck operations or human factors
  • Track record of applying pertinent aviation regulations
  • Track record of applying pertinent industry standards (e.g., ARP4754, ARP4761, DO331, DO178C)
  • Specialization in Flight Controls, Surveillance Functions, or Display Functions
