Job Description

At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. We’re committed to fostering an environment for every teammate that’s welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunity for professional growth. Find your future with us.

Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. Our missions have direct impact to global security, like missile warning and Earth observation.

Our team is curious, bold and innovative. We take risks, innovate and explore new techniques and technologies. We influence change because we challenge the status quo. And when we watch our satellites launch, we know each one of us made it happen.

Job Summary

As a Software Integration and Simulation Lead, you will have technical ownership over all software and simulation platforms for one of Millennium's flight programs. You will drive technical execution to ensure that software at the system level is integrated and qualified for flight. System level software includes (but is not limited to) bus/payload flight software, ground software, vendor-provided software, Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC), Autonomy, and mission operations products. The position will require direct hands on technical work (e.g. designing test platforms and test case execution), as well as oversight of software development and test across the program. The Software Integration and Simulation Lead will partner with Systems and Mission Engineering to decompose requirements and Design Reference Missions (DRM) into test plans/procedures, and in parallel lead the development of simulation platforms on which these procedures are run to verify/qualify the system software. You will work closely with chief engineers and program management to ensure solutions meet needs at the program and mission level.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Technical ownership of software integration and simulation environments across the program. Primary technical POC for HIL-related functionality/inquiries.
  • Decompose requirements and Design Reference Missions (DRM) into a detailed test plan and associated test procedures. Develop and release software Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM).
  • Drive execution of software testing, including actively participating in test case design, development, execution, data post-processing, and sell-off of software/mission requirements
  • Ensure simulation platforms have the necessary capability/fidelity to support testing by either enhancing existing platforms or tracking risk
  • Identify risks (e.g. where test environments lack fidelity) and drive mitigation plans to enable technical progress and program execution
  • Make technical decisions to drive HIL and software related Discrepancy Reports (DRs) to closure
  • Lead initiatives to shape the Software Integration and Simulation role for all programs/portfolios
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
