Spirit AeroSystems designs and builds aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers. With headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, Spirit operates sites in the U.S., U.K., France and Malaysia. Spirit AeroSystems’ Raw Material Commodity Purchasing Team is responsible for the procurement of metallic materials required to support Spirit Fabrication. The company has contracts and agreements in place with top-tier suppliers across the globe. Procurement Agents have responsibility for various pieces of the purchased component life cycle including requirement identification, sourcing, order placement and receipt/ delivery to the Sprit Fabrication. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for synchronization of a supply chain for obtaining metallic raw materials for the company. Interfacing with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure quality materials are delivered, to the right place, at the right time
  • Acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing supplier-related activities and authority to commit company resources through contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Manages inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier performance.
  • Monitors customer inventory demand and material assets to optimize total supply chain planning. Incorporates planning decisions from customers and suppliers to reduce material and product variability and arrive at optimal solutions.

1st Shift: 7:00AM - 3:30PM CST.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a supply chain role, preferably within the metallic raw materials, aerospace or manufacturing industry
  • Bachelors degree is preferred
  • Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written with any leadership level.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Project Management experience and skills highly valued
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, process oriented
  • The ideal candidate for this position is someone who understands the importance of relationships – how to positively cultivate and use influence to obtain the desired outcomes

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent Data Analysis and Problem Solving skill is a plus
  • Knowledge or experience in manufacturing, manufacturing materials and processes is advantageous
  • Familiarity with MRP Systems, with preference given to SAP experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.An MBA is a plus.
