Position Overview:

The Boeing Field Services Team at Hindan is currently looking for Experienced Over The Shoulder(OTS) Mechanic-C17 who will work to support the IAF maintenance team in undertaking maintenance and repair of C-17 aircraft at O & I Level. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense India (BDI) business organization. Work location for this role is Hindan, Ghaziabad.

Teamwork in a diverse team is important in this position. The selected candidate must be able to think proactively and work collaboratively with every team member. Candidate must be willing to work flexible hours (early or late as needed) to interface customers’ requirements and demonstrate strong written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

He should be self-motivated and able to work independently with a positive attitude and with the highest ethics. Selected candidate must have in-depth knowledge of C-17 aircraft, systems, tools, testers, support equipment publications related to aircraft maintenance. He must demonstrate capability to guide the IAF technicians on fault isolation, component identification and replacement and aircraft documentation process. Be a self-starter who is not afraid to proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work. Be able to demonstrate highly innovative and creative problem-solving skills. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate skill in analyzing aircraft system faults and refer to schematic diagram, engineering drawing or other technical data as necessary to isolate the faults. He should be able to guide IAF team in undertaking maintenance, repair and modifications when necessary. Candidate should be familiar with ATA codes, fault isolation of various C-17 systems, Technical Orders, Support Equipment and laptops.

  • Demonstrate capability to provide familiarization training to the IAF technicians on aircraft systems.

  • Demonstrate capability to undertake preservation and packing of engines and guide IAF technicians on replacement of Engine activities.

  • Will demonstrate capability to co-ordinate with international teams and place demands for defective items.

  • Individuals will work closely with team members of C17 Field Services Team. Individuals will develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and execute on-going projects.

Employment will be subject to the candidate’s ability to obtain a security clearance from Indian security agencies/ IAF.

The selected candidate may be required to work on the site at Hindan Air Base. There may be occasional need to support IAF C-17 operating from other civil and military bases within India.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum 8 years of total experience on military cargo aircraft maintenance, preferably on O and I level maintenance on C-17 aircraft.

  • Demonstrated capabilities to refer to aircraft Technical Orders to troubleshoot and repair all aircraft systems, especially Electrical, Avionics and Instrument systems.

  • Familiar with tools, testers and ground equipment required for fault isolation of faults pertaining to Aircraft systems and associated documentation systems.

  • Knowledge of written and spoken English, and familiarity with Microsoft office is required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Diploma/ITI from a recognized university or equivalent.

  • Familiar with Technical Orders of C-17 aircraft, and Tools, Testers and Ground Equipment, required during fault isolation of faults pertaining to Electrical systems, Communication systems, Navigation systems, Auto Flight Systems, Pneumatic system, etc.

  • Familiar with Indian Air Force Maintenance organization at O & I level, and aircraft maintenance documentation system.

  • Conversant with safety, security compliance, cultural requirements and willingness to work in military environment.

Typical Education & Experience:

• Typically  8-12 years related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (eg. bachelor, master, etc) preferred but not required.”

Relocation:  This position does offer relocation within INDIA.
