BCA Engineering Materials & Processes (M&P) organization plays a crucial role in supporting all BCA Airplane programs, supply chain, fabrication, customer support, and BGS. Our organization is dedicated to driving innovation and delivering advanced materials and technology solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

We are looking for a first line manager to lead our team of engineers and technicians responsible for assuring a safe Boeing fleet by developing robust Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) Procedures, providing technical fleet support and exploring innovative NDI technologies.

The selected candidate will be required to work 100% onsite at the listed location with minor travel requirements.

Position responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will excel in both the M&P engineering technical excellence required for this role while also being an engaging and motivating people leader, including committing to: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team (15-22 employees) that develops and maintains NDI procedures to be used by Customer Airlines and maintenance facilities to perform fleet leading inspection, service bulletins and airworthiness directives.
  • Provide responsive technical support to airline customers and internal stakeholders for in-service questions, interpretation of inspection findings, method selection, and troubleshooting of inspection outcomes.
  • Oversee the validation and approval process for new or revised NDI procedures.
  • Coordinate with Stress and Structures and Customer Service Engineering to integrate inspection procedures into damage tolerance assessments, repair validations, and continued airworthiness activities.
  • Manage relationships with internal Boeing experts, airlines, and regulatory authorities to resolve technical issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement of procedures and procedure development.
  • Manage team budget, staffing, priorities, and scheduling to meet customers and program milestones.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience in Aerospace or Manufacturing industries
  • 3+ years of experience in Materials & Process and/or Structures Engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Familiarity with aviation regulatory agencies (FAA, EASA) and industry NDT qualification frameworks (e.g., NAS 410).
  • Familiar with the Boeing certification system for materials and processes
  • Working knowledge of nondestructive inspection/testing NDI/NDT.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement, project management and problem-solving methods (e.g., LEAN, BPSM, RCCA)
  • Experience with team building, developing and motivating employees
  • Strong communication skills and working with executive leaders
  • Ability to adapt to a changing statement of work

Pay and Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay range: $141,950 - $192,050
