Boeing Defense Space and Security is currently looking for a Senior Test Manager to join their team in Kennedy Space Center, FL. This position will focus on managing the Test, Ground Communication and Mission Engineering teams for the Commercial Crew Program through build, launch, landing, and refurbishment. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, program and laboratory management, and hands-on problem solving to deliver high-quality, safe, on-schedule test results for complex aerospace systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of test strategies, plans, procedures, and schedules for fluids and electrical test programs (component, subsystem, and vehicle-level).

  • Define and enforce test requirements traceability to system requirements and mission success criteria.

  • Coordinate integrated test campaigns involving propulsion systems, pressurization plumbing, thermal control fluids, batteries, power distribution, wiring harnesses, and avionics electrical interfaces.

  • Manage day-to-day test operations: resource allocation, test configuration, instrumentation, data acquisition, anomaly management, and test article handling.

  • Supervise and mentor test engineers, engineering technicians, and subcontractor personnel; build and maintain high-performance test teams.

  • Oversee the readiness and sustainment of ground communication, command and telemetry systems

  • Oversee flight management, integration and mission management for Starliner operations

  • Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with company processes, NASA/DoD requirements, and relevant standards (e.g., SAE, IPC, MIL-STD where applicable).

  • Oversee test data collection, reduction, analysis, and reporting; validate test results and drive corrective actions for non-conforming outcomes.

  • Lead risk management for test activities: develop mitigation plans, contingency test paths, and test readiness reviews.

  • Coordinate with design, manufacturing, reliability, system engineering, mission integration, and program management to resolve issues and close verification loops.

  • Represent fluids and electrical test status in program reviews and executive briefings.

  • Establish priorities and assist in deconflicting work between Integrated Product Teams in order to meet program goals

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 9+ years of engineering experience

  • 5+ years leading complex fluids and/or electrical test programs in aerospace or related industries

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline

  • Experience with human-rated or crewed spacecraft systems verification and validation

  • Experience managing vehicle-level integrated test campaigns and interfacing with cross-functional engineering teams

  • Strong technical background in one or more of: space propulsion/pressurization systems, thermal-fluid systems, batteries/power electronics, wiring harness/avionics, and test instrumentation/data systems

  • Experience managing vehicle-level integrated test campaigns and interfacing with cross-functional engineering teams

  • Demonstrated project/program management skills: scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, and risk management

  • Willingness to work in hands-on test environments and support off-hours testing as required

NASA Site Access:

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Summary pay range: $170,000 - $230,000
