Role Overview

At Boeing Sheffield we are looking for a parts wash/hand finisher, reporting into the Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Ensuring parts are washed or hand finished to the correct standard

  • Working in line with production requirements and priorities

  • Visual inspection of parts for defects

  • Using computer systems to book completion of jobs.

  • Working safely with minimal supervision.

  • Ensure correct benching of components, including removal of sharp edges, cleaning of holes, use of orbital sanders, and hand de-burring to drawing and SOP requirements.

  • Ensure finishing of components to achieve ‘as drawn’ features

  • Part mark or ident product as per specifications/instructions provided as necessary

Preferred Skills/Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience in parts wash or hand finish roles in a manufacturing environment
  • or Experience of cleaning to a high standard.
  • Relevant experience or an industry qualification demonstrating use of power/air tools and bench/fettle processes
  • Working knowledge of specifications, SOP’s and Work Instructions

  • Demonstration of basic numeracy to read measuring equipment

  • Attention to detail and diligence (right first time)

  • Work with minimum supervision following instruction

  • Initiative in time management and method

  • Significant levels of concentration required

  • Good verbal communicator

  • Versatility and flexibility to support job requirements
