Boeing Defense Space & Security is seeking a ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Data Science Manager to join the GSC&I Supply Chain Systems & Tool Team. The position will be based in Seattle Washington.

This position is a K-level manager role in support of the Boeing Defense & Security (BDS) the GSC&I Supply Chain Systems & Tool Team. In this role you will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable data stewardship across product lifecycle from conception to launch, driving adoption of new data driven products. The role will engage directly with the business users and stakeholders across Boeing and will be accountable for driving data stewardship enabling digital thread, global data classification and data access, unlocking business value and driving culture change.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees and contractors performing data science, data engineering and software development activities.

  • In partnership with product management, develops and executes integrated portfolio plans, including portfolio business and technical strategies, goals and priorities for analytics powered solutions.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees. Recruits new team members.

  • Acquires resources for data science product development & consulting activities.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Ensures adherence to quality, safety and other compliance requirements.

  • Implements software development methodologies to achieve efficiency and quality goals.

  • Stay abreast of Data Science, AI/ML technologies, academic research, and analytical trends.

  • Drive the end-to-end process to turn ideas and requirements into product features to satisfy customer needs.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience delivering Data Science/Analytics projects.
  • 1+ years of experience in a Data Science/Analytics leadership role.
  • 5+ Years Supply Chain Experience
  • Understanding principles and practices of Data Enrichment & Data Governance
  • SAP ERP Experience & Awareness

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in a Data Science or Analytics management role.

  • Experience in a software development management role.

  • Military Aviation domain experience.

  • Agile software development experience.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 20% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $181,753 - $222,142
