The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer–Developer to support ourEngineering Analytics teamlocated inSeal Beach, California.This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense,Space & Security (BDS) National Systems Programs (NSP) software capability.

The ideal candidate will develop and maintain data analysis tools and environments. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to continuously improve software solutions, ensure engineering excellence, and achieve program objectives.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Mid-Level and Experienced Level Software Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain software applications that meet industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.

  • Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial design of software products.

  • Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities for systems integrations.

  • Develop, document, and maintainarchitectures, requirements, algorithms, interfacesand designs for software products.

  • Participate in the agile software development lifecycle including planning, reviews, and supporting customer meetings.

  • Analyze, characterize, debug and resolve performance related issues to ensure reliability and efficiency of software products.

  • Handle user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze user feedback.

  • Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development.

  • Develop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics that align with organization goals and industry benchmarks.

  • Execute and document software research and development projects.

  • Advise on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

  • Perform software project management activities and software supplier management functions.

  • Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards.

  • Perform cost benefit analysis to help guide technical solutions

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in Python scripting

  • 1+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with software development using agile principles and a structured development process

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • Level 2: 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Active TS/SCI w/adjudicated polygraph

  • Experience with Java and Javascript/React

  • Experience with Kubernetes

  • Experience with databases, Linux, and mTLS

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for Associate Level (Level 2): $102,850 - $139,150

Summary pay range for Experienced Level (Level 3): $127,500 - $172,500

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.
