The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Flight Test organization has an opening for a Weapons Flight Test Operations (FTO) Manager in Saint Charles, MO. This position is focused on supporting a variety of weapon systems programs (JDAM, SDB, B61, Harpoon, etc.) and proprietary programs primarily based out of Saint Charles, MO.

The selected Weapons FTO manager will lead a team of engineers and technicians responsible for test program planning, detailed test plan development, test equipment checkout, test vehicle assembly/checkout/configuration management, test readiness reviews, on-aircraft and control room test execution, day-to-day coordination of remote site test activities, and resolving emergent issues within a flight test program. The manager will have extensive coordination with internal teams as well as external customers.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Program Management Best Practices: manage cost, schedule, RIO, and other programmatic aspects; support program proposal activities support (material and labor estimates
  • Employee development and engagement through coaching, mentoring, and employee performance assessment. Identifying growth opportunities and assignments that best fit the needs of the individual and the company
  • Strategic planning involved in prioritization of limited indirect funds and the development of new tools and capabilities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years of experience supporting a military flight test program
  • 3+ years of experience working with external (i.e. non-Boeing) stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, or government representatives
  • 1+ years of experience managing or leading people or teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • Highly adaptable, high attention to detail, and mission-oriented personality
  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) or experience creating estimates
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Experience as a test engineer on a military test program
  • Experience with planning and executing programs at remote sites
  • Experience with Program Management Best Practices including Requirements Management; Earned Value Management; and Risk/Issue/Opportunity Management
  • Experience with weapon development programs

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $129,200 – $174,800
