The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Entry or AssociateH-47 Electronic Flight Control Systems (EFCS) System Engineer with design, development, integration and test experience to work on development and maintenance of the H-47 Digital Automatic Flight Control System (DAFCS) as well as other electronic systems on the H-47 platform. This position is located in Ridley, PA.

Work will be performed at the Boeing Philadelphia site supporting Boeing Vertical Lift and specifically the H47 Chinook platform.

Candidates will support development and integration activities for the growing Boeing H-47 programs and expanding customer base.

Position Responsibilities

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Working within the team to design, build and test the H-47 Electronic Flight Control System.

  • Supporting Control System requirements generation and management, hardware and software specification generation, systems and software interface management, verification and validation testing in systems integration labs, help troubleshoot aircraft flight test issues as well as support in certification and various levels of system efforts

  • Working closely with other Electronic Flight Control Systems engineers as well as Software and Flying Qualities engineers.

  • Supporting integration of Supplier products with Boeing built products.

  • Supporting a diverse team environment to make and keep commitments associated with embedded flight critical systems development

  • Effectively work in a diverse team to accomplish complex problem-solving solutions and contribute to realizing common goals.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • Experience with digital flight control systems.

  • Working knowledge electrical and electronics as they relate to interfacing and integration in a larger control system.

  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment to make and keep commitments associated with development, build, test, and integration of embedded flight critical systems as well as other complex electronic systems.

  • Experience in real-time embedded computer architecture and software development that includes requirements development through software integration and formal test phases. 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience)

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

  • Experience with the integration of real time operating systems in embedded control systems.

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 664, TCP/IP, UDP/IP.

  • Experience with prototyping and troubleshooting embedded real time applications on modern flight control computers within a complex system architecture.

  • Experience with certification and / or qualification processes and procedures, including general knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements

  • Experience with the integration of Supplier products into larger scale systems.

Typical Education / Experience:

Level 1: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor), or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation Assistance:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Typical summary Pay Ranges:

Level 1: $79,050- $106,950

Level 2:  $98,600 - $133,400
