The Boeing Company is seeking a Lead or Senior Systems Engineer with Reliability, Maintainability, and System Health expertise to join the Special Project Dallas (SPD) P‑8A Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) systems engineering team in Richardson, TX. As an integral member of the Systems Engineering organization, you will work with an integrated team to analyze reliability and system‑health data across the AAS program life cycle (development, production, and sustainment). This role will support reliability and maintainability analyses at various stages of the product life cycle.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead reliability, maintainability, and system‑health analyses across development, production, and sustainment phases.
  • Produce and deliver customer-grade data packages, including Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) reports.
  • Represent Boeing and engage regularly with customers at Failure Review Board meetings.
  • Identify and quantify failure trends affecting production and sustainment hardware; translate trends into actionable recommendations.
  • Coordinate root‑cause investigations and manage corrective‑action tracking and closure.
  • Review and validate supplier data deliverables (e.g., FRACAS and ESS reports) for completeness and accuracy.
  • Support proposal development for tasks that affect Reliability & Maintainability scope, including scoping, cost input, and technical rationale.
  • Maintain and update the Reliability Site Report and related program documentation.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Special Programs Access may be required per the customer.  Certain Special Programs require that the candidate have only U.S. Citizenship or no dual citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 9 years of related work experience
  • Practical experience applying systems engineering principles (requirements development, system design, and trade study/analysis).
  • Experience with Reliability, Maintainability & System Health (RM&SH) engineering: requirements, reliability predictions, and performance assessment.
  • Hands‑on experience with Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS).
  • Proven experience performing failure analysis and identifying root causes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and customer/supplier engagement.

Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with qualification and environmental testing requirements for airborne systems.
  • Knowledge of parts, materials, and processes for electronic and mechanical structures.
  • Experience with reliability engineering tools (e.g., Reliability Workbench, GOLD).
  • Experience using production quality tools such as MESci.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Lead:  $138,550 – 187,450

Summary pay range for Senior: $165,750 – 224,250
