Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for a Developer Prover Tubing to join our Electrical Assembly team in Renton, Washington.

As a Developer Prover Tubing, you will be at the forefront of our innovative aircraft manufacturing processes, responsible for the design, fabrication, and installation of complex tubing systems. Your expertise will be essential in interpreting technical documents and specifications, ensuring that all components are accurately sourced and assembled to meet stringent quality standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, utilizing advanced tools and techniques to troubleshoot and optimize production workflows. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our aircraft systems, making you a vital part of our engineering and production efforts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Obtain job assignments and plan the sequence of work based on supervisor or higher-grade developer instructions.

  • Work from various technical documents, including drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to complete tasks.

  • Verify the accuracy of kitted parts against work orders, ensuring they are free of visible defects and meet quality standards for aircraft use.

  • Assist in implementing production changes and modifications on mock-ups or production products.

  • Identify and obtain the correct components and fasteners from inventory according to specifications.

  • Remove and replace tubing and related components on aircraft systems using appropriate mechanical lifts.

  • Layout and install mechanical or structural parts to support tubing systems as required.

  • Review work orders and setup documents to prepare for job execution or setup.

  • Install and verify machine accessories and holding devices, ensuring they are in good condition.

  • Adjust and check the setup of bending machines, performing test bends to ensure compliance with specifications for ovality and angle.

  • Use precision measuring tools, including a five-axis digitizer, to check and correct bend angles, ensuring they meet design requirements.

  • Set up and operate tubing machines for various operations, including deburring, flaring, swaging, and pressure testing.

  • Handle hazardous materials safely and maintain compliance with disposal regulations.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Tooling, and Production teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

  • Lead and train lower classification employees while developing new methods, techniques, and production aids for tubing fabrication.

  • Requirement to work in Everett, WA as required

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.

  • Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.

  • Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.

  • Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications:(Required Skill/Experience)

  • 3+ years of experience working with detailed work instructions or reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings

  • 3+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools

  • 3+ years of experience using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators

  • 3+ years of experience using a tube bender or similar machinery

  • Experience doing jobs or tasks where you had to apply math skills such as algebra, geometry and/or trigonometry

Typical Education & Experience:

High school graduate or GED preferred.

This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement.

Shift Work Statement:

This position is for 2nd shift, with the potential of working other shifts as required.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $26.00 - $51.39 an hour
