Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) is seeking an Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior Industrial Engineer to support the Interiors Fabrication Manufacturing Business Unit (MBU) by applying engineering methods to improve production processes, reduce waste, increase throughput, and ensure quality and safety in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, quality, engineering, and supply chain to analyze and improve interiors fabrication processes and work cells.

  • Define and document current state processes, identify process flow bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.

  • Perform time studies, work measurement, capacity analysis, and labor standards development.

  • Develop and maintain production layouts, line balancing, and takt time calculations.

  • Apply problem-solving tools (RSPS, BPSM) to drive Root Cause Analysis and implement preventive measures.

  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods to eliminate waste and improve yield.

  • Create clear process documentation, standard work, visual controls, and production metrics dashboards.

  • Ensure recommendations comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry

  • 2 years of relevant experience

  • Hands-on experience with Lean manufacturing tools, root cause analysis, and standard work documentation.

  • Proficiency with time studies, work measurement, takt time, line balancing, and capacity analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and ability to create production metrics and reports.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 5 years of relevant experience

  • Level 4: 9 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with manufacturing simulation tools (e.g., Arena, Simio) and/or CAD (e.g. AutoCAD).

  • Willingness to work in a fabrication/shop floor environment and adhere to safety requirements.

  • Experience with Metrics and KPI generation and building Data Visualization dashboards (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP/SAP), or production scheduling systems (shop floor bar charts).

  • Lean or Six Sigma certification

  • Experience in interiors fabrication, composite/metal fabrication, assembly, or related aerospace/automotive industries.

Summary Pay Range:

Associate: 83,300-112,700

Mid-Level: 100,300-135,700

Senior:122,400-165,600
