Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for a Capture Team Lead to join our team in Hazelwood, MO.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading sales and campaign activities as a Capture Team Leader (CTL) in accordance with the Integrated Acquisition Business Process (IBAP). The position entails participation in the development of marketing and campaign win strategies that have a substantial impact on shareholder value and enhance warfighter capabilities. The primary focus will be to interface directly with the customer decision makers to shape the market and optimize the business cases for new products, technologies and services.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility opportunity to influence strategy and drive business outcomes across a dynamic market. This role requires close collaboration with Program Management, Finance, and various Functional Leadership. The selected candidate should understand the customers’ processes, procedures, techniques, organizations and culture – specific knowledge of USAF aircraft and weapons operations, tactics and acquisition. This position will have the opportunity to increase other skillsets over time, and to build a long-term career either within the core sales and marketing function or through other opportunities within Boeing.

Personally take the mission lead supporting the future for USAF tactical aircraft and all the exciting next generation sustaining and training technologies. 

Position Responsibilities:

Capture Leadership & Strategy Development:
Serve as Capture Team Lead (CTL) for select, high-priority campaigns. Drive the internal and external sales process, manage stakeholder alignment, and ensure successful capture execution. Lead the development and execution of capture strategies for large, complex defense programs, including competitive analysis, win themes, and value propositions. Collect and analyze relevant information from internal and external sources to support strategy development and alignment across the Boeing enterprise.

Cross-functional Team Leadership & Coordination:
Direct cross-functional teams through the full capture lifecycle, from opportunity identification through proposal submission.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with defense customers, prime contractors, and other key stakeholders to shape acquisition strategies and influence requirements.

Gate Reviews & Reporting:
Prepare and present opportunity status, capture plans, and investment justifications to executive leadership during gate reviews and decision briefings. Analyze competitive landscape, assess risk factors, and develop mitigation strategies and differentiators to enhance win probability.

Budgeting & Resource Planning:
Develop and manage capture budgets, track expenditures, and ensure proper resource allocation throughout the capture process.

Communication Planning:
Develop communication plans and strategies to effectively convey information to customers and stakeholders

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years’ experience in any of the following sectors: defense, aerospace, or government services, Business Development, Capture Management, Strategy, Program Management, Contracts/Estimating/Finance
  • 3+ years’ experience with military aircraft and/or weapons acquisition
  • Experience and demonstrated success in developing and maintaining strong relationships with defense customers and other key stakeholders to understand defense requirements, budgets and planning for effective shaping of acquisition strategies and influencing requirements
  • Experience performing strategy related work (e.g. market or competitive research and analysis, strategy development, facilitating strategic decisions)
  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
  • Experience working with multiple internal or external stakeholders (i.e. business partner, customer, Finance, etc.) in planning and executing projects
  • 10+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel to support business and team requirements (approximately 40%)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Certification as a Capture Team Lead
  • Experience as a strategic business partner supporting a leadership team
  • Master’s degree or higher or equivalent military experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $153,000 - $207,000
