The Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Program Area is seeking a Senior Manager for Engineering Integration and Execution in Huntsville, AL. This manager will be responsible for engineering integration across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), programs, and development efforts within the IAMD portfolio. The selected individual will provide program-level technical leadership across the portfolio, partnering with the Chief Engineering Office and program chief engineers to ensure that technical decisions and integration activities remain coherent across system baselines.

The IAMD/PAC-3 Engineering team is responsible for designing Radar seeker upgrades and next generation concepts, as well as supporting production and special test equipment design. This program simultaneously engages in all aspects of the system development lifecycle, including concurrent design, test and manufacturing, and the leader in this role will support each of these lifecycle areas through systems engineering execution. This long-term program is rapidly growing in Huntsville, Alabama due to design updates, production growth, and Boeing facilities consolidations. 

A successful Engineering Integration and Execution manager will be responsible for execution of engineering priorities through high-risk hand-off points throughout the programmatic lifecycle. This leader will drive alignment between development and production efforts to ensure consistent decision making and resolve technical challenges impacting overall system or organizational performance. This manager will also provide an enhanced focus on the execution of proprietary efforts, implementing engineering strategy in a consistent manner and driving the application of resources required to maximize program success.

Position Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the IAMD Engineering Integration and Execution Manager include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead integration of engineering activities and decisions from a cross-lifecycle perspective, collaborating with a multi-functional engineering organization

  • Lead or contribute to cross-program and cross-IPT teams to address complex technical or organizational performance challenges

  • Identify and champion resolution of cross-program technical risks, issues, and dependencies that impact organizational performance

  • Champion technical excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge-sharing across teams and programs

  • Partner with Chief Engineering, Program Management, and Functional Management to target training gaps impacting the organization’s technical execution. Identify opportunities for program-focused training programs

  • Responsible for deploying Boeing Engineering Initiatives and best practices, as appropriate, for improved quality and efficiency

  • Collaborate with customer engineering counterparts to align development roadmaps and identify/manage cross-program dependencies

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or PhD degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics

  • Strong technical foundation in Radar theory, Radar system fundamentals, Digital signal processing, communication theory, subsystem design/test practices, missile integration, and/or lower-tier defense architectures

  • Experience using Systems Engineering processes and tools

  • Proven track record in leading multi-disciplined/multi-functional engineering teams

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills

  • Experience with project management and earned value management principles

  • Experience developing and reporting of engineering metrics to drive execution of projects 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience employing strategic leadership to achieve successful technical outcomes

  • Experience with Product Integration within a complex system

  • Experience presenting to program leaders and customers

  • Experience with customer coordination pertaining to complex systems

  • Experience devising and executing strategic execution initiatives

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  


Summary pay range: $170,000 - $230,000
