Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Development & Mock-up Model Mechanic to support the Site Operations function in Huntington Beach, CA.

Development Mechanic supports building activities for mechanical assemblies, heavy structure drill out, bonding, fastener installation, assembling components and wire harness installations.

Typical work includes building, modifying, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing components and structural assemblies used in production of product lines.

The role bridges hands-on mechanical work and executes planned work through work orders, designs, computer models, processes and procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, assemble, and using standard hand/power tools and precision instruments.

  • Maintain accurate buyoffs of completed work, inspections, and non-conformances.

  • Collaborate with engineers to suggest design changes and process improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and configuration control.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance Requirements:

To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • Experience with composites

  • Must have the ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and technical data.

  • Must have 1 or more years of experience using tools such as torque wrenches, countersinks, drills, deburring tools, and calibrated equipment, Lock gauges, micrometer, drilling.

  • Must have strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and good communication with teammates.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Mechanical Experience is a plus (Automotive or Drilling)

  • Certifications (A&P), specialty training or equivalent experience are desirable

Additional Information:

  • This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
