The Boeing Global organization is responsible for leading the development and execution of enterprise-wide global, regional, and country strategies across all Boeing businesses, in close coordination with the business and functional leaders.  It also takes the lead on international government relations, providing direction and management of the company’s interface activity with foreign governments and officials, industry leaders, media, policy and academic institutions in all areas of aerospace industry and related activities.  It provides guidance and coordination of enterprise-wide country and regional strategies and policies to promote Boeing’s international business activities.

To help us execute define our long-term visions for these key economies, and to develop and maintain plans to achieve our near term and longer term objectives, we are seeking a Senior Government Relations Officer who will report to the President of Boeing Southeast Asia, with a dotted line to the Boeing Managing Director in Vietnam with the following responsibilities. This position can be based in Hanoi, Vietnam or Bangkok, Thailand.

Position Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Regularly interfaces with Boeing business units to enable integrated approach to business, knowledge of key business, campaigns and partnership activities

  • Supports, develops and (as appropriate) leads all government relations activities in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia and contributes to ASEAN-level initiatives in coordination with the Government Relations lead for ASEAN

  • Works closely with Boeing regional leadership and communications on all significant press and media engagement

  • Develops and strengthens relationships with all regional stakeholders

  • Identifies business development opportunities for Boeing in potential regional growth markets

  • Acts as Government relations focal and contributes to country and regional strategies

  • Acts as the in-house market expert and ensures team is kept up to date with significant market intelligence and geopolitical issues

  • Supports or leads (as appropriate) on the implementation of enterprise and business initiatives

  • Contributes to engagement with local universities and other educational institutions to develop curriculum, talent pipelines and a local relationship for Boeing

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, or relevant major is required.

  • Have a minimum of 10 years proven experience in relevant areas, e.g. Experience in business and program development with a regional, national or local government, or a similar role in industry

  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication in English and Vietnamese or Thai, depending on location.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, cross-functional environment.

  • Experienced in working with multinational companies, preferably U.S. based entities.

  • Deep understanding of the business environment, culture, and regulatory landscape of Southeast with specific experience in Vietnam or Thailand.

  • Strong project planning, management and execution skills.

  • Travel up to 20% will be required, within the region, to the USA, as well as other possible locations.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Skills and Experience):

  • Familiarity with the aerospace industry and government policies related to the sector would be highly beneficial.

  • Confident public speaker

  • This requisition is for an international locally hired position. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
