Introduction:

Boeing Global Services, with over a century of innovation in aerospace, is seeking a dynamic First Line Manager to lead and develop a geographically dispersed team of Project Managers based in Frimley, Dublin, and Hamburg. This role is critical in driving the successful delivery of complex aerospace projects, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, and fostering a high-performance team culture. The role is based in Frimley, UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers located in Frimley, Dublin, and Hamburg to ensure successful program delivery across aerospace connectivity and modification projects.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and risk management activities to meet or exceed program objectives.
  • Act as the primary interface between senior management and project teams, providing clear communication on program status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Facilitate resource planning, workload balancing, and professional development for team members across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Support to ensure seamless program execution.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management activities within the project management team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Competencies:

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes effectively.
  • Provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Drives Programme Management Best Practices (PMBP), establishes programme goals, and develops a PMBP improvement plan.
  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees to build a high-performing team.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing a team of Project Managers, preferably within the aerospace industry.
  • Strong background in program and project management, with a track record of delivering complex aerospace projects.
  • Qualification in Program Management (PMP, CPM, or equivalent) highly desirable.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience in a STEM field preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including MS Project.

Further:

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between Program centres such as Frimley, Dublin and Hamburg.
  • Legal authorization to work immediately in the UK.

Work Authorization:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the UK. Boeing will not attempt to obtain immigration or labor sponsorship for any applicants.
