The Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) organization is seeking a Technical Designer (Associate or Experienced) to join our dynamic Environment Control Systems (ECS) team in Everett, WA. ECS is responsible for critical aircraft systems including low pressure pneumatic systems, fire protection, equipment cooling, and air distribution systems that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient aircraft operation.

This role supports the full product lifecycle, including development, factory support, post-production support, and supplier collaboration. The successful candidate will work closely with production, suppliers, and quality teams to deliver high-quality ECS products that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, and/or Experienced.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and modify ECS system and component designs using 3-D CAD tools (CATIA V5) and ENOVIA with a focus on duct modeling and low-pressure systems.

  • Support development activities including design integration, validation, and verification of ECS systems such as fire protection, equipment cooling, and air distribution.

  • Provide technical support during factory build and post-production phases to resolve issues and implement design changes.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure design compliance and support supplier design reviews and problem resolution.

  • Manage Engineering Liaison Requests (ELRs), Corrective Action Requests (CARs), Non-Conformance Record (NCRs), and Change Management processes to ensure timely and effective resolution.

  • Lead and support Product Revision Records (PRRs), Shipside Action Trackers (SATs), and Change Notices (CNs) to maintain product quality and compliance.

  • Implement and track 95000E changes and other configuration control activities to maintain design integrity throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Interface with cross-functional teams including other engineering disciplines, quality, manufacturing, and program management to drive continuous improvement and producibility trade-offs.

Work Authorization Statement: 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.

  • 1 or more years of experience in technical design or engineering support role.

  • 1 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).

  • 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with ECS systems including low pressure pneumatic, fire protection, equipment cooling, and air distribution systems.

  • Proficiency in CATIA V5 for duct modeling and 3-D design.

  • Experience supporting development, factory, and post-production phases.

  • Familiarity with ELRs, CARs, NCRs, Change Management, PRRs, SATs, CNs, and 95000E change processes.

  • Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing and certification processes.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues.

  • Knowledge of Boeing design, production, and build processes is a plus.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range:

  • Associate (Level 2): $59,500 – 80,500

  • Experienced (Level 3): $70,550 - $95,450
