Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for a Senior Software Application Developer to join our Digital Services team in Centennial, Colorado or Seattle, Washington. Boeing Global Services (BGS) Digital Services is at the forefront of delivering innovative solutions that enhance the operational efficiency of commercial airplanes.

As a Software Application Developer, you will be part of the Boeing Global Services Digital Services organization, which develops software applications and products for that to create direct value to its customers. Through our products we deliver innovative solutions to our global customer base at an accelerated pace.

In this Software Application Developer role, you will work with an established team to build data delivery applications that deploy Boeing software and data to mobile devices, customer PCs, as well as directly to Boeing aircraft.  You will work closely with product management to deliver high-value solutions to our customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • As a Software Application Developer, the selected individual will work in the Boeing Digital Services team to develop, maintain and improve Data Delivery software
  • Leads the development, documentation and maintenance of software application architectures across platforms to meet customer, functional, and/or regulatory requirements, quality objectives, and constraints specific to the applicable domain and available technology
  • Provides technical leadership for project management including schedules, plans, and estimates
  • Assists project leads with risk management and progress reviews
  • Develop software designs and algorithms
  • Defines external interfaces
  • Reviews statements of work, conducts estimation reviews and manages risks
  • Translates business requirements into technical requirements, processes and tasks
  • Participates in the development of fundamental approaches to projects and requirements for implementation
  • Leads development, maintenance, and unit tests for software applications
  • Participates in internal/external design reviews
  • Leads integration/test efforts of software applications and creates overall integration plans
  • Leads development, selection, tailoring, and continuous integration and continuous delivery of software
  • Supports issue resolution, leads root cause analysis for all software issues, identifies opportunities and implements process improvements
  • Defines and helps implement strategies for the software application teams

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5 years’ experience in: Java/JEE, .NET, Azure Cloud &Azure DevOps, Testing Frameworks (Selenium, JMeter, etc.), C/C++, PostgreSQL, SQL
  • Experience in aeronautical data delivery

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Prior experience Flight Management Systems, Class III EFB applications, or Data Delivery systems
  • Familiarity with airplane avionics, network protocols and airplane system integration
  • Assists in the facilitation of team meetings
  • Delivers informative, well-organized presentations
  • Problem Solving
  • Identifies critical issues with ease
  • Exhibits confidence and extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems
  • Pushes creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindset

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Starting Pay Rate: $144,000 – $194,000
