Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Supplier Quality has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Representative to support D1-4426 Special Processes for our Americas-Midwest team in Wichita, KS.

The successful candidate must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, Wichita, KS. area. They can work out of their home virtually but they must reside in the Wichita area.

The BCA Supplier Quality organization is responsible for approving and maintaining oversight of our suppliers to ensure conformance to engineering and contract requirements.  Our team members work remotely, with requirements to travel up to 75% of the time, performing onsite audits and advanced quality improvements at our approved processors.

Candidates are required to travel up to 75% of the time to non-Boeing locations throughout the assigned region. Use of a personal vehicle, when required for company business, would be reimbursed at mileage rate per applicable company policy.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan, organize, and conduct onsite audits of D1-4426 Special Process approved processors

  • Apply knowledge of materials, and special processes to assess supplier capability and capacity to perform and comply with Boeing specifications, engineering documents or other contractual and regulatory requirements

  • Apply technical expertise to monitor, coach, or recommend improvements to suppliers to develop and maintain internal processes that are repeatable, cost effective, and environmentally friendly

  • Conduct training and coordinate company initiatives to improve supplier performance and productivity

  • Lead, plan and conduct audits and assessments of complex supplier systems, processes and products

  • Strong understanding of root cause and corrective action analysis and implementation of preventative action

  • Provide education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives

  • Assesses capabilities and capacity of suppliers to perform current or potential future work

  • Develop training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity

  • Identify risks and hold suppliers accountable for the mitigation of those risks

  • Create presentations and presents to senior management at suppliers and Boeing

  • Use of a personal vehicle, when required for company business, would be reimbursed at mileage rate per company policy

  • Using Nadcap audit results, perform investigations as required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with coatings and non-metallic materials

  • 3+ years of experience with metallic materials and metallic processes

  • 3+ years of experience working with special processes (heat treatment of metals, welding, brazing, chemical processes/finishes and coatings, composite hardware manufacturing processes, metal bonding processes, non-destructive testing) and/or special process auditing

  • 3+ years of experience auditing to quality system standards

  • 3+ years of experience working with Quality and/or Safety Corrective Action/Preventative Action, Root Cause Corrective Actions

  • Strong computing skills, excellent communication skills and be customer-oriented

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10 years of experience in at least ONE of the following commodities: Heat Treat, Chemical Processes, Non-Destructive Testing or Welding

  • Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as FMEA, control plans, SPC and MSA

  • Working knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 and AS9145

  • Lean or lean six sigma experience (leading or co-leading teams with value stream mapping and shop floor standard work events)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management best practices and processes

Summary pay range : $87,0000 - $112,000
