Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides knowledge of numerical control, machining, and programming inspection machine tools
  • Performs a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis of NC programs to ensure validation and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements and specifications
  • Analyze blueprints, engineering models, and electronic controls to support NC programming
  • Work with NC programmers to optimize or modify programs as required
  • Program CMM’s, portable inspection devices and provide verification of NC programs using software and apps
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Validates fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams
  • Communicates with cross-functional teams to influence and clarify design concepts
  • Coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, and addresses producibility issues as well as production & post-production problems

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to apply process knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Composite non-metallic, metallic machining, sheet metal, systems, structures and inspection
  • 2-5 years of professional experience or equivalent work experience in numerical control (NC) programming, concentrating on multi-axis machines, metallic or composite materials
  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with inspection machine tools and NC Programming software
  • Frequent interaction with internal personnel in the manufacturing environment and occasionally with inter-organizational personnel and external customers
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel
  • Strong knowledge of SAP
  • CATIA; ENOVIA;; Metrologic; Verisurf; Polyworks
  • Understanding of the master scheduling requirements
  • Ability to take a project from start to finish
  • Willingness to work cross-functionally
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, subject to experience in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or other related course of study a plus but not required.
