Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring a Lead Technical Designerfor the Space Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Integrated Design Center in Titusville, FL., which is a multi-function Engineering Organization with a mission statement to provide engineering solutions via a highly skilled flexible workforce and cutting-edge technologies for the advancement of the Boeing Enterprise. The Integrated Design Center provides engineering support to Enterprise-wide projects/programs and is a flexible team that strategically adapts to emerging opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and maintenance of engineering product definition

  • Oversees the development of design layouts and the modification of existing designs to satisfy customer and production requirements

  • Develops engineering product definition based upon Company requirements and parameters

  • Coordinates development of engineering product definition with internal/external parties to ensure compliance with applicable standards, requirements and design parameters as well as product functionality

  •  Integrates work statement, work scope and work transfer packages with internal and external customers to requirements

  • Oversees, directs and integrates the completion of product definition across internal and external business partners and products to provide a functional end-product. Investigates and resolves complex manufacturing process or engineering related issues

  • Verifies accuracy of engineering data produced by others

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience or 8 years' related work experience, etc.)

  • Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities (e.g., composites, structures), and data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data)

  • Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements

  • Knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics)

  • Ability to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files)

  • Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A])

  • Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in Model Based Definition, Design for Manufacturing, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance, and Tolerance Analysis

  • Experience with CATIA (V4 and V5) and NX

  • Experience with ENOVIA Workbenches

  • Experience with CMPRO

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $75,650 - $102,350
