The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer (Associate/Experienced/Senior)to support our Onboard Performance Tool group located in Seattle, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.

We are looking for a Software Engineer with preferred experience in airplane performance and flight operations. 

The successful candidate will have extensive experience developing applications for administrators and end users in airline operations, including flight operations and flight crew.  Airplane performance domain knowledge required.  C++ development experience is required on both MacOS and Windows; FORTRAN and SQL skills are a plus.  Experience with agile software development, CI/CD environments, and cloud hosting of applications is desirable.  Previous customer support and technical product management of airplane performance tools is desirable.  Understanding of commercial, business and military airplane performance regulations a plus.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development, documentation, and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.

  • Develops code and integrates complex software components into fully functional software systems.

  • Provides technical guidance and collaborates with team members and suppliers on software projects.

  • Participates in the development, selection, tailoring, and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics.

  • Assists in planning, executing, and documenting software research and development projects.

  • Acts as a subject matter resource for software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations.

  • Monitors and evaluates software team and supplier performance to help ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.

  • Works with limited supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle

  • 1+ years of experience with C, C++ or Java

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Level 4: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 2+ years of experience in airplane performance, flight dynamics, and/or commercial flight training

  • C++ development experience is preferred on both MacOS and Windows

  • Understanding of commercial, business and military airplane performance.

Travel: less than 5%

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range / Associate: $92,650 - $125,350

Summary Pay Range / Experienced: $114,750 - $155,250

Summary Pay Range / Senior: $136,850 - $185,150
