The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Cloud Solution Architect to join the team in Seattle, WA; Hazelwood, MO; Mesa, AZ; North Charleston, SC; Plano, TX; Englewood, CO; or Kent, WA.  


We are seeking a skilled Azure professional to design and implement secure and scalable cloud landing zones within the Microsoft Azure environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure architecture, security frameworks, and compliance standards.

This role will focus on creating Azure service provider landing zones, developing system security plans, conducting threat modeling, and producing perimeter review artifacts, with a specific emphasis on aligning with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement Azure landing zones that align with best practices and organizational requirements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Azure services

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system security plans that comply with industry standards and regulations specific to Azure

  • Create and update threat models to identify and mitigate potential security risks within the Azure environment

  • Ensure that cloud architecture and security practices align with NIST standards and guidelines, including NIST SP 800-53 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate compliance with NIST requirements and recommend necessary adjustments to cloud configurations and security controls

  • Produce perimeter review artifacts to assess and document security controls and compliance posture in Azure

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of Azure architecture, security policies, and procedures

  • Work closely with Development Operations (DevOps), security, and compliance teams to ensure alignment on Azure security strategies and NIST compliance

  • Provide guidance and support to development teams on best practices for Azure security and architecture

  • Stay current with emerging Azure technologies, security trends, and compliance requirements

  • Recommend improvements to existing Azure architectures and security practices to enhance compliance with NIST and other relevant standards

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud security architecture and design, with a focus on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • 3+ years of experience in cyber security solutions architecture, with a focus on cloud technologies, DevSecOps, and secure system design

  • 3+ years of experience in a cloud computing environment e.g. Azure/AWS/Google Cloud and related security services

  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD environments

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or equivalent)

  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert)

  • Experience with Development Operations (DevOps)

  • Experience in Value Stream Analysis and incremental process improvement methodologies

  • Experience in team building, leading cross-functional teams, motivating and engaging team members, and inspiring work groups through daily interactions

  • Experience with facilitating discussions with technical team to drive improvement and efficiencies

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $123,250 - $179,400
