The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the small and highly motivated Global Initiatives Support and Proactive Solutions (GIS & PS) team that is leading our efforts in partnering with Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Sales & Marketing to regain global market share and expand our customer base. This role requires detailed knowledge across the Boeing enterprise and focuses on delivering proactive support and solutions tailored for startups and new customers, ensuring their success as they prepare begin services and operating Boeing aircraft today and into the future. The ideal candidate will integrate Customer Support with the BCA Sales & Marketing Organization, aligning on key sales imperatives and global initiatives while serving as the primary contact for escalating issue resolution. The selected candidate will work out of our Seal Beach, CA site.

In this position, you will support the development of a global strategy centered on Customer Support and the Startup & New Customer Initiative. You will drive regional airline focus, based on growth potential, revenue generation, and market growth.  Your responsibilities will include shaping the strategy, addressing customer support gaps, and providing strategic direction for high-value customer engagements. You will also communicate customer status with Customer Support Leadership as well as the Startup & New Customer Initiative team. You will drive resolution of customer issues and concerns, ensuring alignment across the Commercial Aviation Services and Boeing Global Services organizations.

As a Customer Facing Project Engineer, you will engage directly with customers in coordination with the Sales Team to understand their business plans, fleet details, and operational constraints. You will develop a network of experts to provide complex technical and operational support, proactively recommending solutions and ensuring that airline issues are resolved efficiently. This role requires participation in recurring meetings with airline stakeholders and the ability to identify and address constraints in partnership with airlines, maintaining collaborative relationships throughout the process.

Additionally, as a Project Engineer you will coordinate regulatory administration support, develop sustainable processes for enhancing Boeing's engagement with new customers, and when applicable, the larger customer base, and ensure alignment with contracts and charging policies. You will also be responsible for maintaining customer meeting logistics, tracking action items, and developing a Global Customer Growth database. This multifaceted role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and understanding of airline operations, leasing and ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) coupled with the ability to foster collaboration across various teams internal and external to Boeing to drive customer success and satisfaction.

Position Responsibilities:                                                     

  • Provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
  • Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements.
  • Works with customers and management to obtain approval.
  • Identifies and manages changes to statement of work and assesses the impact of those changes and incorporates changes into statement of work.
  • Negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
  • Leads project execution to complete the work statement.
  • Identifies performance metrics.
  • Plans, identifies and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.
  • Assigns responsibility for activities to team members and ensures technical correctness and consistency of products and services.
  • Directs proposal development to complete the work statement.
  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.
  • Identifies corrective actions to improve project or team performance.
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.
  • Works under consultative direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher (Or technical equivalent).
  • 5+ years’ related experience.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range Senior $150,450 - $203,550
