Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an ExperiencedMaintenance Engineer – Maintenance Engineering to join our team in Seal Beach, CA.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Applies engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to support product support engineering and analysis to ensure supportability, sustainability, reliability, maintainability and operability of products and services throughout its lifecycle.
  • Develops product definition, design and configuration.
  • Defines, evaluates and maintains engineering supportability, operability and maintainability requirements for products, systems and programs.
  • Analyzes data to produce support, flight operation and maintenance equipment requirements.
  • Evaluates engineering changes based on customer requirements and proposes program changes and manages implementation of changes.
  • Plans, researches, develops, analyzes, and designs modification and repair solutions that comply with customer, regulatory, Safety and company requirements.
  • Establishes planning and design criteria to develop integrated support and maintenance infrastructure.
  • Supports continued airworthiness.
  • Provides engineering and on-site technical assistance to customer’s products including, ground support equipment, training devices, training facilities, operations facilities and maintenance facilities.
  • Coordinates and supports proposal development.
  • Understands how to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal network; understands the cultures of organizations.  Applies this information in a way that contributes to the organization’s strategic plan and bottom line.
  • Utilizes a variety of media, clearly conveys information and ideas to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
  • Makes customers and their need a primary focus of one's actions
  • Discovers new opportunities and solutions for problems by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking.
  • Tries different and novel ways to deal with work problems and opportunities.
  • Provides products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace first-time quality as a way of life – not accepting, creating or passing any defects and speaking up.
  • Identifies and corrects conditions and behaviors that affect employee, public, and customer safety; upholding safety standards; demonstrating proactive safety culture leadership.
  • Collects, organizes, synthesizes, and analyzes data; summarizes findings; develops conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Knowledge of Boeing's organizations, processes, program plans, policies and procedures, and products required to effectively perform functional responsibilities of the occupation.
  • Designs Concepts & Techniques - Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]).
  • Communicates with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and maintaining technical publications or regulatory documents.
  • 3+ years of experience using Commercial Maintenance Manuals.
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting engineering data for inclusion into maintenance manuals and technical publications.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Project management experience
  • A thorough understanding of the eMOD authoring system.
  • Experience and knowledge of the AMM suite of manuals, including AMM, FIM, FRM, IPC, PPBU
  • Detailed knowledge of airplane configuration data management systems and how to find configuration data. These include eMOD, APC, Equipment Manager, My Boeing Fleet, LOPA’s, WIRS, FASTR, BOLD, BOBCATT, REDARS
  • A thorough understanding of the eMOD authoring system. This includes all aspects of applicability rules and their relationship with the eMOD item tree and authorities, as well as the authoring of maintenance documents.
  • Knowledge of operations, environments, and maintenance support concepts.
  • Knowledge of customer, regulatory agency, industry, and company policies, practices, and procedures as they apply to technical documentation, support equipment, part interchangeability, data reliability analysis and data extraction, service-related problem resolution and warranty settlement processes, etc. in support of projects and programs.

Summary Pay Range: $94,350 - $127,650 USD
