Boeing is currently looking for a Field Operations Senior Quality Assurance Manager to join their team. This position will focus on supporting global operations aligned to Boeing Aerospace Operations (BAO) business organization, and more specifically Government Services & Global Technical Operations within Boeing Global Services (BGS). A successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day execution of the Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with industry and Department of Defense (DOD) standards involving remote site maintenance and modification quality assurance processes and procedures. Position can be located in either San Antonio, TX, Berkley, MO, Hazelwood, MO or Jacksonville, FL.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop, and inculcate a robust Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Management System (SMS) to drive safety and first-time quality (FTQ) across all processes and products

  • Develops and maintains strategic and tactical partnerships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, BDS & BGS business partners, peers, and direct reports

  • Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving

  • Acts as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the team.  Capable of effectively triaging and de-escalating issues with impacted parties

  • Analyzes hiring results, metrics and trends to influence team strategy and performance to ensure LRBP goals and objectives are achievable

  • Assist/support executive leadership in the development and execution of process plans, and procedures and set operational goals relative to field operations quality assurance

  • Partners with Operations, Engineering, Finance and HR to execute on statement of work to meet customer and program expectations

  • Demonstrates the Boeing Behaviors and Values in a deliberate and observable way

  • Coach and Mentor (senior level individual contributors, i.e. 4/5 and K/L managers) to develop a comprehensive succession plan

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start isrequired.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in providing technical and performance oversight of aircraft maintenance or modifications, including briefing US Government Customers on status of performance

  • 5+ years of experience working with and supporting Quality Management System (QMS)

  • 3+ years of experience maintaining and/or developing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics

  • 3+ years of experience working with Quality and/or Safety Corrective Action/Preventative Action, Root Cause Corrective Actions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and/or equivalent military experience (4+ year or greater in USAF, USN, USMC, US Army, US Coast Guard)

  • 5+ years of experience leading or facilitating internal auditing, safety management systems, and process assessments

  • Incident Review/Special Investigation (facilitate) for aviation safety related incidents

  • Risk Management

  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control

  • Strong Communication Skills

  • Quality Management System knowledge relating to Industry, Boeing and DOD standards, i.e. AS9100, MAR-145, PC-700, etc.

  • Safety Management System knowledge and support across portfolio

  • FOD/Tool Control and Safety knowledge

  • Knowledge of business acumen; EVM, Cost and Scheduling in support of long-range business plans (LRBP)

  • Knowledge of formal RCCA with Human Factors application

  • Ability to work with 3rd party registrar (EASA, Intertek, NQA), and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) customers

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business

Summary Pay Range: $162,350 – $219,650
