The Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Mid-Level Systems Engineer –  Software Integration Lead Coordinator to join their team in Richardson, TX. This position will serve as an individual contributor for the P-8A Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) Training Systems Integration and Test team.

The Integration and Test team provides software integration for the P-8A AAS Training Systems, which consists of a weapons trainer simulator, electronic classroom for desktop instruction, and a mission planning station. This position will support the software team in the integration of the AAS software baselines. The position requires collaboration with the software owners to ensure proper device operation after the software components are integrated. 

The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently in a challenging, fast-paced environment. This position requires a lot of collaboration with other teams and the customer, strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. The candidate will support the training devices in Dallas as well as retrofitting the training devices at customer sites.

The candidate will initially be performing team duties, then transition into a lead coordinator role. Initial team duties include software integration in the labs, formal test execution, labs administrator duties, basic device troubleshooting, documentation updates, travel to remote sites to support device retrofits. The position will turn into a lead coordinator role once enough experience is gained to understand the scope of work.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams in the integration and testing of the P-8A AAS training devices, including the Navy customer, government sub-contractors, and Boeing leadership from other business functions.
  • Coordinate major AAS training device retrofit and software upgrade integration events in Dallas and the remote site in JAX and WHI.
  • Collaborate with customers to coordinate a long-term software development plan, ensuring system capabilities are delivered on schedule.
  • Use Agile methodologies to manage and organize team work backlog, break down new work scope into detailed tasking, identify dependencies, collaborate with the teams to plan the work to meet customer commitments.
  • Communicate the technical status to both the leadership team and the customer to support effective team execution, proactively identify risks and opportunities, and develop a comprehensive risk management plan.
  • Lead technical cross functional teams in small detailed assignments, developing action plans and diving execution.

The candidate must have a current DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ or equivalent).

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Security Clearance and/or Special Program Access or other Government Access requirements are mandatory for this position.  Much of the work at The Boeing Company is of a classified nature and many positions require a security clearance, the granting of which is at the discretion of Government authorities. A final security clearance is mandatory for this position prior to start. If you cannot or do not obtain the required final Security Clearance and/or Special Program Access or other Government Access requirements in a time frame established by program management, this offer may be withdrawn.  Once your clearances are granted, if they are not maintained, the result may be reassignment, reclassification, or termination of employment.

Special Programs Access may be required per the customer.  Certain Special Programs require that the candidate have only U.S. Citizenship or no dual citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance
  • DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time domestically for remote installations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with Agile tools (Jira/Gitlab)
  • Experience working in Linux environments
  • Experience with hardware and software integration and troubleshooting complex systems

Summary pay range Mid-Level: $104,550 – 141,450
