We are looking to hire a Field Services Product Review Engineer (Associate/Experienced) level as part of the on-site C-17 Field Operations Engineering and Technical Support (FETS) team supporting the NATO Airlift Management Programme (NAMP) in Hungary.

Hiring details:

  • This requisition is for a locally hired position in Papa, Hungary. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.

  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

  • Shift: The positions are shift-based roles to be based at our Papa Air Base.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain NATO or US security clearance.

  • This position requires the ability to work independently under time constraints and stress, in a demanding, on-call, around the clock operational environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participating in resolving complex operational problems that require a high level of ingenuity, innovation, and coordination with the NAMP customer and other Boeing entities

  • Providing the NAMP customer troubleshooting and repair guidance

  • Providing assistance with the interpretation of technical documents to ensure the intent and purpose of the documentation is understood and followed

  • Providing specialized on-the-job training by explaining the theory of operations and demonstrating basic operating, maintenance, servicing procedures, and troubleshooting techniques

  • Investigating and pursuing courses of action necessary to safely support NAMP missions including assistance with spares supply and support equipment

  • Documenting field site activities by preparing and transmitting publication change requests, continuous process improvement data, and technical reports to provide status of product or customer issues and developments

  • Providing similar support and advice for other C-17 customers worldwide

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1 year of professional experience as Field Engineer – or in a related field

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, aerospace engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) (Associate level):

  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience as Field Engineer – or in a related field

  • Strong background with the operation, maintenance and fault diagnosis of aircraft electrical, environmental, propulsion, mission, avionics, and communication systems

  • An understanding of aircraft repair, airframe maintenance philosophy, structures, and hydro-mechanical systems

  • Knowledge of common aircraft support equipment

  • Travel to other operating locations to assist with operation, maintenance, and recovery or aircraft may be required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) (Experienced level):

  • 4 to 6 years of professional experience as Field Engineer – or in a related field

  • Strong background with the operation, maintenance and fault diagnosis of aircraft electrical, environmental, propulsion, mission, avionics, and communication systems

  • An understanding of aircraft repair, airframe maintenance philosophy, structures, and hydro-mechanical systems

  • Knowledge of common aircraft support equipment

  • Travel to other operating locations to assist with operation, maintenance, and recovery or aircraft may be required

  • Prior field experience in troubleshooting complex integrated systems, within an operational environment utilizing Technical Orders, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, system schematics and historical

Liaison Engineering Judgement.  Exercises engineering judgment in developing appropriate decisions considering decision criteria, implications, and possible consequences, to ensure product design integrity. Demonstrates understanding of the applicable scientific and engineering knowledge and involves others in obtaining information for the liaison engineering decision-making process.

Product Review Process.  Knowledge of Universal Product Review (UPR) including Material Review Authorization (MRA), Materials Review Board (MRB) processes, supplier delegated MRB processes (e.g., authorization, qualification, maintenance, disclosure), and post-production review.
