Expression of Interest - Web-Based Data Capturing Software Administrator (eJournal Administrator/Developer)

Are you a highly organised, detail oriented and tech savvy individual, then Boeing Defence Australia is seeking your expression of interest for the role of eJournal Administrator/Developer. Working under general supervision and direction, the eJournal Administrator/ Developer provides support for the eJournal Information Technology (IT) System and users under the direction of the eJournal Technical Lead. The position is responsible for training of users and supervisors, development of the system to the requirements of Defence, the diagnosis and resolution of technical problems and critical in ensuring seamless access for all users.

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

The Opportunity -
Team members work as an imbedded workforce to support the customers personnel training requirements. This role offers an exciting and unique opportunity whereby we as a customer focused team:

  • Planning and adapting existing programs to meet user requirements including the undertaking of complex software and moderately complex hardware requirement activities and tasks.
  • They will undertake a range of IT system tasks within agreed priorities, receive direction on what is required and take action to solve familiar circumstances involving choices between easily recognisable alternatives. They will attend eJournal Working Groups as required.
  • The eJournal Administrator/ Developer shall be responsive to the Army Aviation Training Centre, subject to any International Traffic in Arms or Intellectual Property constrains.

The role is based at based Swartz Barracks, Oakey, QLD.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience using MS Visual Studio 2017 or higher
  • Formal qualifications with one (1) years' experience or two (2) years demonstrated experience in database administration and database development using MS Structured Query Language (SQL) Server 2008 or equivalent
  • Formal qualifications with two (2) years' experience or five (5) years demonstrated experience in building and maintaining Microsoft ASP.NET MVC Web Based C# applications using Visual Studio
  • Formal qualifications and/or one (1) years demonstrated experience in developing HTML5 and JavaScript applications
  • Customer service skills in a range of contexts at various levels (e.g. timely response to requests, providing client instruction when installing new hardware or software)
  • Interpretation of technical and hardware installation manuals
  • Negotiation skills in relation to other team members and applied to a defined range of predictable problems (e.g. planning and development Schedules)
  • Ability to work effectively unsupervised and within a team
  • Demonstrate strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly

Desirable:

  • Have CERT IV in Training and Assessment or the ability to obtain
  • Have CERT IV in Aeroskills (Avionics or Mechanical)
  • Demonstrated experience as an eJournal Administrator or similar role
  • Demonstrated high knowledge of Aeroskills Training Package and the Aeroskills Log of Industrial Experience and Achievement
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ADF LMPs.

Must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level, as per Department of Defence requirements.
