Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) 787 Quality is seeking a new Products and Services Paint Quality Manager (Level K) to support the Paint team located in North Charleston, South Carolina.

This position leads paint quality inspector teams in decorative and component paint. You will use your knowledge of paint processes & experience in process improvement, defect reduction, and project management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees who evaluate and ensure products, services and processes comply with customer contract requirements, engineering requirements, company procedures and government regulations

  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies to improve performance

  • Provides leadership, education and coaching on the Quality System

  • May make airworthiness determinations on behalf of the company and regulatory agencies

  • Acquires and manages resources

  • Leads and also encourages the team to identify process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, suppliers and direct reports

  • Manages, leads, develops, coaches, and motivates employees

  • Possesses and leads with a safety mindset

  • Influences team culture on importance of safety values & First Pass Quality

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role

  • 3+ years of experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership

  • 3+ years of experience with Quality Management Systems

  • Experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Experience working with regulatory agencies

  • Experience with paint application and inspection

  • Experience with safety processes

  • Experience interacting directly with airline customers

Shift:

This is a variable shift position. It's expected to be 2nd or 3rd shift, however willingness to work any shift based on business needs is required.

Summary pay range: $114,300 - $139,700
