The Space Launch System (SLS) team is seeking highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Planners to join our team in New Orleans, LA.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including associate and mid-level planners.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes, manufacturing planning, and production optimization. This role involves working closely with manufacturing engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing planning of products while maintaining high quality standards.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and planning.

  • Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team to review manufacturing build flows for planning producibility.

  • Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions.

  • Identify and resolve manufacturing issues to improve product quality and production efficiency.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing planning & production support

  • Experience in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills

  • Experience reading, interpreting, and enforcing standardized manufacturing processes, work instructions, and engineering drawing and process procedures

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing planning & production support

  • STEM focused Associate and/or Bachelor’s Degree

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Competent in Full-Size Determinate Assembly builds

  • Competent in Model-Based Design

  • Competent in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

  • Competent in MESci

  • Competent in PTC Creo modeling or other CAD software suites

NASA Access:

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range associate (level 2): $56,100 - $75,900

Summary pay range mid-level (level 3): $65,450 - $88,550
