Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Experienced or Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to join our Space Launch Systems team in New Orleans, Louisiana.

As a Manufacturing Engineer on Boeing’s Artemis program, you’ll help design, refine, and sustain the manufacturing and production system processes that turn visionary spacecraft concepts into flight ready hardware. Every process improvement you develop can reduce mission risk, accelerate delivery, and increase reliability for crewed lunar missions and beyond. 

A proud heritage — Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) is located in New Orleans East and operated in partnership with NASA, Michoud is often called “America’s Rocket Factory.” It combines one of the world’s largest industrial manufacturing buildings with heavy lift tooling, large format fabrication capability, and a decadeslong heritage of producing the large structures that enable human exploration. 

Position Responsibilities:   

  • Responsible for the integrity of the Manufacturing Bill of Materials.

  • Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build.

  • Leads and implements manufacturing plans.

  • Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.

  • Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices.

  • Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.

  • Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.

  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.

  • Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems. Implements lean principles and technologies.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering field

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems

  • Experience with Configuration management

  • Experience working with manufacturing build plans, bill of materials, and manufacturing operations

  • Experience with Product Data Management tools, information, and systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Experience with CREO

  • Experience in developmental programs

  • Experience in Systems Engineering

  • Experience in Product Architecture development/execution

Pay and Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Experienced (Level 3) Summary pay range: $90,100 - $121,900

Senior (Level 4) Summary pay range: $109,650 - $148,350
