Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an AssociateQuality Engineer to join our team located in New Orleans, LA!

This position will be directly supporting the manufacturing and assembly of the Space Launch System Core Stage and Exploration Upper Stage.  The Space Launch System is the next generation rocket that will be carrying humans back to the Moon and beyond to Mars.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in one of the following relevant fields of study:

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve engineering drawings to ensure inspection and quality characteristics are incorporated and adequately defined.  
  • Review and approve processes and procedures.
  • Support Internal and third party audits.
  • Review and approve Design Drawing changes.
  • Assures adherence to internal processes and procedures.
  • Assign Mandatory Inspection Points
  • Support Test activities.
  • Work with Suppliers to ensure they deliver a Quality product.
  • Facilitate and participate in corrective action events
  • Formulate and assign corrective action tasks, track to completion
  • Document corrective actions in appropriate systems
  • Develop and track Quality Metrics

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.“US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
  • Ability to travel domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ year experience in quality or related experience

  • 1+ year experience of Satellite or Space Programs

Travel:

This position may require up to 10% travel.

Shift:

This position is for 1st shift

Summary pay range: USD $73,100 - $98,900
