Role Overview:

Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) in Japan, part of our global innovation hub, is looking for an experienced and motivated Robotics and Automated Production Systems Engineer for commercial aerospace. As a member of the BR&T Japan Research & Development team you will have the opportunity to design, improve, and transform production systems and processes to achieve world class manufacturing excellence for some of the world’s most sophisticated aircraft.

A successful candidate will have broad knowledge of robotic systems, aerospace manufacturing processes, and confident scientific programming skills. They will be comfortable in taking initiative, providing technical leadership to a small team of engineers, learning from others and by experience, seeking feedback, and creating innovative ideas. They will get great satisfaction in applying and engineering solutions that will work in the real world.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Project leadership and execution focused on the design and development of advanced robotic systems for aerospace production systems.
  • Promote and maintain meaningful stakeholder relationships both internal to the Boeing enterprise and external with our Japanese partners.
  • Contribute to the development of novel robotic methods, processes, intellectual property, training, and tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes and automation, robotics, computer vision, simulation, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Independent and collaborative working abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Experience:

  • Technical leadership experience.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience in hardware/software integration and robotics development/testing.
  • Japanese language proficiency is a significant plus.

Location:

Nagoya, Japan

The selected candidate will be required to work on-site (with some flex) at Boeing Japan’s Nagoya office.

This requisition is for a locally hired position. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not on Boeing US-based payroll.
