Boeing is seeking Visitor Relations Specialists - Tour Guides (Associate or Experienced) to deliver world-class experiences at Boeing Future of Flight (BFoF) in Mukilteo, WA.

As a world-renowned public facility and one of Puget Sound’s most popular tourist attractions, BFoF typically welcomes more than 300,000 visitors every year to experience tours of the Boeing Everett Factory. In addition to tour operations, the Visitor Relations team hosts experiences in a 26,000 square foot Gallery of interactive and educational exhibits showcasing a wide range of aerospace innovations and Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) learning concepts. The facility hosts special events and community activities, as well as various educational and public programming engagements. Visitor Relations team members serve as Brand Ambassadors and must demonstrate active visitor engagement as well as capacity and enthusiasm for learning and sharing accurate information about Boeing products and aviation concepts.

The Visitor Relations Specialist - Tour Guide B position is responsible for learning and presenting detailed Boeing content and scripted material to deliver enhanced experiences such as the Everett Factory Tour, Boeing Backstage Pass, and other interactive presentations. This role also supports engagement throughout the Future of Flight facility, including ticketing services, and facilitating gallery interactives and engagement. In addition to giving tours, responsibilities involve research and other tour-related assignments.

The Visitor Relations Specialist - Tour Guide C supports an enhanced level of duties which may include serving as a team trainer and mentor, supporting special tours and experiences such as executive or virtual tours, or acting as daily operations LOD (lead on duty).

The optimal candidate for these positions will demonstrate a passion for customer-focused interactions among diverse audience groups and coordinate with other team members to conduct daily on-time business processes to support BFoF priorities. This opening is for full-time positions, which will include work on weekends and holidays. Operating hours are subject to change based on seasonal and special event activity.

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Engages customers enthusiastically; supports all aspects of visitor experience to enhance Boeing brand and products

  • Creates exceptional experiences for a diverse audience, leaving a lasting and positive impression of The Boeing Company

  • Memorizes and delivers scripted material and approved messaging to guests. Incorporates script updates and new content as required. Practices continuous learning with supplemental material and Boeing Company news

  • Leads tour and theater activities with up to 200 attendees

  • Assists visitors with general building wayfinding, safety and services at both Future of Flight and Boeing Everett Factory sites

  • Facilitates ticket purchases, guest greeting and briefing, theater tech and other operational assignments in support of these programs

  • Acts as LOD (lead on duty) as requested. Duties include creating staff rotation and tour schedules for daily operations, leading safety response procedures, communicating with site business partners, and responding to onsite visitor needs to ensure a high-quality brand experience

  • Acts as role model and mentor for new staff. Conducts skills training as requested

  • Supports development of supplemental documentation for public tour FAQ

  • Learns gallery and exhibit content and actively engages with visitors to share information accurately. Facilitates interactive experiences with general public, groups and event guests as requested

  • Works efficiently to optimize program timing/throughput with guest flow and works collaboratively on staffing coverage and rotations

  • Works a flexible schedule which may include early mornings, mid-days, and evenings, plus weekends and holidays as tour and event schedules require

  • Assists with evacuating guests during emergencies and implements safety training practices as needed

  • Completes mandatory training assignments in a timely manner and participates actively in team training and meetings

  • Special assignments and job duties as requested

Physical requirements:

  • Capability to speak intermittently for 90 minutes at a time, 3-4 times daily

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, information retention skills

  • Frequent walking and standing on various surfaces, for up to six (6) hours per shift

  • Occasional stair climbing/descending

  • Occasional to frequent sitting

  • Occasional grasping/handling and keyboarding/mouse use

  • Limited lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds, gripping, squatting, neck and head rotation, bending and twisting

  • Capability to use radio, microphone, computer, cell phone, writing implements, cleaning supplies, PPE equipment

The successful candidate:

  • Loves interacting with people from around the world; is gracious and hospitable at all times

  • Must be poised under pressure, maintain good eye contact and have a friendly communication style, and strong customer service focus

  • Demonstrates proficiency with managing guest questions and comments, and trouble-shooting routine tour and program challenges

  • Is fluent in English, but proficiency in a second language is a plus

  • Has experience with memorization of scripted material and teaching or facilitation of learning concepts

  • Demonstrates ability to learn quickly and follow standard operating procedures

  • Is able to work at ticket counter, gallery, factory, and other locations as assigned for extended periods of time; can be on feet for six (6) plus hours per shift

  • Demonstrates punctuality and regular attendance

  • Has experience with technology related to events, exhibits or Point of Sale (POS) (preferred)

  • Has experience with Boeing and/or Boeing Future of Flight (preferred)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in a role which required strong customer service and communication skills

  • 1+ years of experience multi-tasking and working in a team environment

  • Experience giving presentations/public speaking

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Proven reliability, punctuality and regular attendance

  • Experience giving public tours and/or public speaking

  • Experience with technology related to events, exhibits, or Point of Sale (POS)

  • Experience with Boeing and/or Boeing Future of Flight

  • Experience with an entry level or higher leadership role

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for Associate (Level B): $42,500 - $57,500

Summary pay range for Mid-Level (Level C): $48,450 - $65,550
