Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Business Development Representative in El Segundo, CA. This individual will lead the capture of new business for proprietary and non-proprietary Government and potentially commercial pursuits for Phantom Works (PW) Space Systems. The Senior Business Development Representative will be accountable for leading sales and campaign activities as a Capture Team Leader (CTL) in accordance with the Boeing Integrated Business Acquisition Process (IBAP).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads in the development of campaign strategy and tactics using in-depth knowledge of customer needs, Boeing products and services, and competitive environment
  • Leverages company resources to support customer commitments, gain a competitive advantage, and foster business growth by developing a detailed understanding of specific
  • Boeing products and services, process and operations, and resources
  • Gathers and analyzes relevant information (e.g., political environment and competitive assessment) from internal and external sources to support strategy development and alignment across the Boeing enterprise
  • Initiates and advances customer relationships to be accepted as a trusted business partner by the customer
  • Provides guidance to more junior employees regarding capturing and documenting detailed customer knowledge and assist in network development
  • Identifies future business opportunities and promote the value of Boeing portfolio and leads review process with management by balancing customer expectations and Boeing
  • Consults and influences decisions of Boeing senior level executives regarding business goals and objectives
  • Leverages detailed understanding of the customers' processes, procedures, techniques, organizations and culture - specific knowledge of US Department of Defense (DoD) operations, tactics and acquisition

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance
  • 3+ years of experience on Space, Launch Vehicle, or Satellite Programs

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working with Military or Department of Defense (DoD) customers
  • 3+ years of experience interfacing directly with senior military officials and executives
  • Business capture experience
  • Experience working in Phantom Works (PW) or in other research and development (R&D) programs
  • Detailed understanding of United States Air Force (USAF) Space and Missile Center (SMC), Air Force Research Labs (AFRL), and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) initiatives and emerging mission needs
  • General understanding of the targeted customer communities
  • Able to balance the enterprise, business unit, and customer goals to meet and drive the Long Range Business Plan (LRBP)
  • Good interpersonal, leadership, and management skills as well as relentless customer focus
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of the Government (political) / Defense Requirements and Acquisition processes

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $145,350 – $196,650
