The Boeing Company is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support hard metals machining and assembly in Helena, MT. In this role, you will apply industrial engineering principles to optimize production processes, facility layouts, and workflows to meet program goals. You will develop capacity plans, improve safety and quality, and integrate new technologies to enhance efficiency. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will analyze data, design assembly instructions, and support production and supply chain logistics to ensure seamless operations and compliance with industry standards.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements of moderate complexity. Maintains and develops plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and workflows.
  • Supports the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations. Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
  • Completes workflow design and analysis.
  • Develops moderately complex models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders.
  • Assists with research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
  • Develops and implements plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • Provides product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices.
  • Prepares operations plans, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.
  • Supports execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices.
  • Provides production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support of moderate complexity.
  • Reconciles compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3 or more years' of experience with Industrial Engineering or a similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working with Industrial and/or Systems Engineers.
  • Experience in ERPLN.
  • Knowledge of LEAN processes.
  • Experience with Boeing 737, 767, 777 and 787 airplane programs.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for Mid-Level (level 3): $80,750 - $109,250

Summary pay range for Senior (level 4): $96,050 - $129,950
