Boeing Commercial Airplanes is currently seeking a highly motivated Software Architect, to become part of the Electrical Technical Center SoftwareEngineering team in Everett, WA. This position will support the Boeing Wiring System (BWS) Family of tools, plus a host of legacy Engineering Developed/Maintained software tools.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) business organization.

BWS is the heart of Electrical Engineering’s Digital transformation.  It will be the center of electrical design and manufacture for decades to come. Software engineers on our team are responsible for all phases of the software lifecycle, including architecture, design, implementation and test. They are also directly involved in planning their own work, as part of the agile methodology, with a focus on technical excellence.

Our backlog includes everything from new feature development using cutting-edge technology to maintenance of legacy software baselines. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in an often fast-paced environment within a two-week "sprint" schedule.

As a Senior Software Architect, you will act as an independent technical SME developing software architecture for ETC’s core products. You will lead on planning, designing, development, integration and maintenance of our products to meet program objectives. You will provide technical leadership for the entire tech stack of solutions needs. You will lead software research and development projects ensuring its feasibility in the next gen products and services and advise program customers on software-level architecture and establish and maintain frequent and open communications with agile teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead software research and development projects ensuring its feasibility in the next gen products and services
  • Independent technical SME development software architecture for BCA’s Electrical Engineering core products (Boeing Wiring System, EC2, eLAT, eDart, Siemens Capitol)
  • Lead on planning, designing, developing, integration and maintaining for BCA’s Electrical Engineering core products to meet program objectives
  • Provides technical leadership for the entire tech stack of solutions needs for BCA programs
  • Advise Airplane Program customers on software-level architecture and establish and maintain frequent and open communications with agile teams
  • Train and mentor team architects and senior software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): 

  • 15+ years of experience working on large enterprise level software applications
  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, Computer Science, physics, mathematics or data science
  • Experience developing Web Applications, Web APIs and WPF/WinUI3 Desktop Applications.
  • 15+ years of experience in programming languages such as C++, C#, PLSQL, Rest, Java, Perl etc.
  • Expertise in Asp.net Form, Asp, Asp.net MVC, Angular UI, ASP.NET API, AJAX, .net framework, .net core, entity framework, SQL, Cloud base application, Docker and Kubernetes

Summary pay range for Lead: $167,450.00 - $226,550.00
