Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking an Area Sales Director (IC), reporting to the Regional Sales Director.

In support of Boeing Global Services' (BGS) aspirations for global aerospace leadership and uncompromising customer focused services, we are seeking a passionate, motivated, and knowledgeable Area Sales Director who will help customers solve business challenges as it relates to aftermarket aircraft support in Western & Central Canada.

The Area Sales Director position develops, maintains, and interacts with broad scope of new and existing customers within the aviation market to increase sales and/or services through product knowledge, education, and value proposition.

In this role, you will develop sales strategies designed to demonstrate the features and benefits of the products/services to achieve increased sales and profitability. You will be responsible to manage the full sales cycle for assigned accounts; from preplan to servicing the customer, while utilizing the full suite of communication technologies offered by the company.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and assembles documentation of data to support management reviews.

  • Participates in reviews with direction.

  • Assists lead negotiator throughout the business negotiation process to help secure customer and vendor commitments.

  • Obtains commitment and approval from internal stakeholders to support changes during the negotiation processes.

  • Utilizes detailed understanding of both customer and Boeing needs and resources to recommend areas of alignment and integration.

  • Leads assigned sales and campaign activities by contributing to the development of strategies and tactics with minimal guidance.

  • Maintains and reports metrics related to campaign status.

  • Leverages company resources to support customer commitments, gain a competitive advantage, and foster business growth by developing a detailed understanding of specific Boeing products and services, process and operations, and resources.

  • Supports the integration of knowledge into business strategies and solutions.

  • Research, reviews, and analyzes information about competitors' products and services to develop a detailed understanding of specific competitor activities and their impact on market positioning to improve our competitive position.

  • Captures and documents specific campaign information related to customer business needs, culture, requirements, and economic and environmental influences by researching available resources, websites, and publications.

  • Networks with both internal and external resources, when applicable.

  • Assists in the interface with the customer and internal Boeing resources to keep both apprised of key issues and concerns.

  • Participates in customer meetings with limited scope and responsibility.

  • Assists in the development of customer solutions by performing analysis of customer needs and available resources.

  • Evaluates alternatives and makes recommendations to the internal team leader and management.

  • Formulates requirements for both Boeing and Industry products and knowledge into recommendations to meet customer needs.

  • Assists in the preparation of management review materials.

  • Assists in the maintenance and advancement of customer relationships by supporting customer meetings and preparation of presentation materials.

  • Analyzes business alternatives to recognize customer needs in relation to the strategic direction of internal Boeing programs.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in technical outside sales and marketing.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

  • Proficiency in CRM tools (MS-BI/Salesforce/Siebel, etc.)

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

  • Willing and able to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.

  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.

  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience within the aerospace or aviation market.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of aviation material sales and services.

  • Business and general aviation background.

  • Experience working with Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) providers, Fixed-base Operators (FBO's), Helicopter Operators, OEM's and/ or corporate aviation entities.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.

Starting salary will be based on year of post-secondary education completed, qualifications and experience.

British Columbia Salary pay range: CAD 91,000.00 - CAD 162,000.00
