Do you aspire to help build something better? Would you like to work for a company that employs the best talent to develop and deliver world class capabilities and systems to protect Australia and its national interests? Would you like to work on cutting edge projects? Then we would like to talk to you.

As an equal opportunity employer that promotes a diverse and safe workplace environment, one of the country's leading and preferred defence partners, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is now recruiting a System Security Technical Lead in Brisbane to support the MQ-28 Program.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a product security engineer with deep experience in defining, designing and implementing cyber security controls in a defence context, strong knowledge of systems engineering and solution architecture practices as well as superb team leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. The successful candidate would have comprehensive awareness and practical experience applying product security engineering design practices, cyber governance risk and compliance strategies in a defence-industry, Operational Technology and Information Technology context.

The role is based at Boeing's head office at 123 Albert St, Brisbane CBD with some occasional travel to RAAF Amberley and RAAF Woomera, SA.

Responsibilities

As a Systems Security Technical Lead / Security Architect, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership across an existing team of Product Security Engineers/Analysts across the development, implementation, and sustainment of product security throughout all stages of the product lifecycle (i.e. requirements, design, build, test, production, operations and support).
  • Collaborate with MQ-28 Engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to develop cyber security designs that implement Information Security Manual (ISM) and other industry standard cyber controls across the software, systems and products developed across the Program.
  • Develop system requirements for product security throughout all stages of the product lifecycle that synthesize all applicable system, interface, certification and customer requirements.
  • Lead Product Ownership activities across the Cyber team as part of the Program's Scaled Agile execution cadence. This includes defining the product security vision, managing the backlog and providing inputs to planning, scheduling and prioritisation for cyber security activity across the Program.
  • Perform threat analysis and risk assessments to inform and prioritise cyber security efforts across the Program and to ensure alignment with broader business and customer objectives.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders across the Program, Industry and the Commonwealth to advocate for MQ-28's cyber objectives and influence where required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Tertiary degree qualification in an engineering or related technical discipline.
  • A systems engineering background with extensive experience with security and industry standards (e.g. ISM, PSPF, DSPF, NIST, ACSI).
  • Demonstrated experience in applying relevant engineering practices, standards and regulations throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering using digital modelling tools such as the Dassault Systems No Magic suite of products (e.g. Cameo Systems Modeller, Magic Systems of Systems).
  • Superb communication skills and the ability to collaborate, educate and influence within a multi-discipline team.
  • Australian citizenship to meet Defence security requirements.

It would also be highly desirable if you had the following additional experience and qualifications:

  • Experience in accreditation and certification of airborne systems within a defence context.
  • Experience applying secure software development principles and practices.
  • Industry recognised information security qualification such as CISSP-ISSAP, CRISC, CISM or similar.
  • Defence industry and/or government security experience.
