The Opportunity

This role will suit an experienced specialist who is keen to work as part of a small expert Assurance, Risk and Compliance team responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of BDA's governance framework, enterprise risk management, and compliance.

The successful candidate will be able to effectively navigate a complex organization operating in a highly technical, innovative and regulated environment, and will be a skilled influencer able to inspire cultural change.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of ARC policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that policies are communicated effectively across the organization, including organising workshops and seminars on compliance and risk management topics.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and support the identification and assessment of cross-business risks and the development of risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
  • Assist in the review of compliance reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Assist in the follow-up of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of ARC activities and prepare management reports on ARC initiatives.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with GRC objectives and to promote a collaborative environment and culture of compliance and risk awareness.

To be successful, you will:

  • Previous experience in governance, risk management, compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of defence regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, and the ability to report data in a meaningful way for senior and executive leadership.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders to drive change.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint and Atlassian tools is desirable.
  • Be able to research, develop, implement and embed new processes which are customised to the specific business environment.
