Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking a Test Bed Operations Laboratory Technician to join our team in Berkeley, MO.

This technician role supports the test aircraft by maintaining, modernizing, troubleshooting, repairing/fabricating, and removing/replacing equipment to keep testing interruptions to a minimum.  The selected technician will also play a key role during testing to support engineering real-time during the tests.  The job includes working on aircraft systems on the ground and in a lab as well as the potential to fly on the test bed aircraft.  The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated when working in a dynamic team environment.  This position requires the candidate to become a non-flight crew member of an experimental aircraft which requires a medical evaluation by Boeing Medical.

BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate, Experience, and Senior Test Bed Operations Laboratory Technicians.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies

  • Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of harnesses, components, test fixtures and test systems

  • Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and posttest tear-down

  • Assists the team in ensuring that the test equipment is functional and properly configured for the scheduled test activities

  • Designs systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements

  • Supports occasional Saturday and extended shift as necessary to complete the mission

  • Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic test-related problems

  • Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results

  • Supports occasional (<10%) travel with test aircraft

  • Reads and interpret engineering drawings

  • Works under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in lab or flight test

  • 1+ years of experience in wiring harness build or test

  • 1+ years of experience in equipment troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • RF network/communications/antenna experience

  • Aviation maintenance experience

  • Existing DoD Secret clearance

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range for Associate level (Level 2): $47,600 - $64,400

Summary Pay Range for Experienced level (Level 3): $55,250 - $74,750

Summary Pay Range for Senior level (Level 4): $63,750 - $86,250

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
