Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Phantom Works is seeking to hire a Project Management Specialist level 3 or 4 for the Phantom Works Program Management team to drive execution of critical work scope for future Advanced Combat Aircraft (ACA) programs. This position will be in person at our St. Louis, MO site.

The selected teammate will operate in a flat and transparent conops with the Senior Manager, the Director of ACA Operations and additional team members to work successfully across all levels of The Boeing Company.  Acting as a leader and an active member of collaborative teams, you will be impacting program structure, timelines and differentiation in order to successfully capture and execute new Defense Program pursuits.

This position is dependent upon substantial engagement across multiple functions within the BDS and Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) business units, including Program Management, Finance, Engineering, Strategy, Supply Chain and Production Operations. Internal functional collaboration is complemented by review cycles up through the Chief Technology Officer and the ACA Senior Executive steering committee to track performance to execution plans (Budget and Schedule).

Position Summary:

The selected candidate will manage the project execution for maturation, qualification and sourcing strategies of critical materials related to ACA programs. The specific statement of work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Support the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives in coordination with management; develop & execute integrated organizational plans
  • Support the Program Manager in generating, implementing and managing the execution goals across the statement of work
  • Manage projects key performance indicators and ensure the project health of initiatives
  • Communicate and help resolve team roadblocks & constraints as well as implement evolved policies and procedures
  • Prepare and/or support BR&T and BDS executive presentations on project details & progress
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with internal customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners

Position Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have extensive technical project management experience, must have a bias to action minds-set, be innovative and a quick learner, have technical and business acumen, excel in verbal and non-verbal communication, and have a proven track record of successfully collaborating/leading cross-functional teams and partnering across the Enterprise.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a technical or business background
  • 5+ years of project management experience; strong project management skills are a must as well as the ability to lead multiple high-profile projects simultaneously
  • Able to manage a high degree of complexity and to distill information into simple messages, and strategically at a global level as well as effectively developing key processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build trust; influence and foster relationships with diverse team members; has a high level of integrity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 4: 7 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in: (1) project managing to multiple Program execution goals; (2) technical background in new product design and manufacturing processes; and (3) knowledge of developing process specification materials
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Active Security clearance
  • Master’s Degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other certifications related to Project Management

Typical Education & Experience:

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary Salary Range:

Level 3: $92,700 - $118,450

Level 4: $114,300 - $146,050
