About Position / Position Summary:

Leads operations management and compliance, Business Support services and traveler assistance for multiple delegated business activities such as Enterprise Services, Site Services, Finance & Business, Security & Fire Protection and Supplier Management. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders and peers within a country. Investigates and provides guidance for international local hire and international assignee on complex issues or concerns. Manages facility operations, non-real-property planning and project administration, and facilities provisioning. Responsible for site/entity compliance with local laws, Boeing policies and procedures, develops and manages the operating budget. Interprets office and property accounting, invoicing, cost analysis, tax policies and business objectives, and recommends solutions. Leads teams to design, development and implement organization policies, programs, processes and procedures for the purpose of safeguarding people, property, information and the environment while ensuring compliance with applicable government and company security and fire regulations (e.g., business preparedness, country evacuation plan and crisis management, secure badge renewals). Monitors and partners with the procurement agent at the local site contribute to managing the vendor’s activity (i.e. negotiations, vendor performance).

Leads and guides others on statement of work and independently represents transportation and logistics to internal/external organizations. Leads cross-functional teams in the introduction of new processes, tools and techniques for Transportation Analysts. Responsible for documenting, implementing and maintaining team improvements. Investigates and performs root cause analysis on complex compliance and logistics initiatives and recommends best practice solutions relating to transportation and logistics practices, processes and procedures. Supports investigations of matters under review. Identifies, develops and implements corrective measures. Integrates related information to identify and implement opportunities for business solutions. Executes complex transactions, analysis and assessments that ensure compliance with Regulatory Agency guidelines. Coordinates and leads a variety of internal process reviews, audit/assessment activities and support services including invoice audit and related activities, contracts management and negotiations. Develop and recommend changes to new or existing process management procedures for better customer experience and enhance operational excellence.

This role will be based out of Bengaluru, India.

Position Responsibilities:

A Transportation Manager oversees and coordinates all transportation activities within an organization, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods and materials while adhering to regulations and budgets. This role involves planning, supervising shipments, scheduling routes, tracking orders, and managing staff involved in transportation operations. 

  • Planning and Supervision:

Developing transportation strategies, planning routes, and supervising shipments from origin to destination. 

Critical thinking and analytics.

Driving accountability within the teams

  • Fleet Management:

Overseeing the maintenance and repair of transportation vehicles, conducting inspections, and managing driver qualifications. 

  • Staff Management:

Directing and managing transportation staff, including dispatchers, drivers, and other personnel involved in transportation operations. 

  • Compliance and Safety:

Ensuring all transportation activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards. 
Aware of policies and procedures and local laws.

  • Budget Management:

Managing transportation costs, developing and adhering to budgets, and optimizing transportation processes to minimize expenses. 

  • Communication and Coordination:

Collaborating with other departments, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless transportation operations. 

  • Performance Monitoring:

Tracking transportation performance metrics, analyzing data, and identifying areas for improvement. 

Supplier Management and driving the SLA -KPI

  • Problem Solving:

Addressing and resolving any issues or challenges that arise during transportation operations. 

Risk management and mitigation.

  • Documentation:

Ensuring accurate and complete documentation of all transportation activities, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other relevant records. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation management systems and regulations.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technologies.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree or higher in hospitality / administration/ logistics
  • At least 8 years relevant experience working in Transport services/IFM/Shared Services/Administrative environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Post graduate qualifications will be an added advantage.

Typical Education & Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 Plus years' related work experience or master’s degree with 8 years of experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience
