Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a C-17Configuration Management Specialist to join our Global Training Engineering team (GTE) located at Altus Air Force Base, OK.

The Configuration Management Specialist will support the C-17 Training Systems (TS) Program by defining and interpreting product requirements related to certification, configuration, and data management processes. This role involves developing and implementing plans to ensure compliance with technical, regulatory, and company requirements while maintaining configuration control. The specialist will track data to monitor adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements and assist in developing certification plans and process models. Additionally, the position includes administering configuration management disciplines and ensuring proper evaluation of proposed engineering changes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Defines, documents and interprets product requirements relevant to certification, configuration, data and data management and engineering processes.
  • Develops, documents and implements plans and processes to ensure products meet technical, data, regulatory and company requirements and to maintain configuration control.
  • Tracks and reports data to monitor adherence to regulatory, data configuration and contractual requirements; supports audits and reviews to ensure products meet requirements.
  • Assists with development certification plans, integrated process architecture infrastructures, process models, product structure definitions and/or data requirements/data management processes.
  • Assist management in achieving, at lowest total life cycle cost, the required performance, realistic schedule, operational efficiency, logistic support, and readiness of TS configuration items (CI's).
  • Allow the maximum degree of design and development latitude, yet introduce at the appropriate time the degree and depth of configuration control necessary for production and logistic support.
  • Administer the application of CM disciplines throughout affected program performing organizations.
  • Publish, implement, and administer CM procedures.
  • Establish and administer the baseline operation for proper evaluation of proposed engineering changes to the student environment.
  • Ensure the preparation and update of configuration records in fulfillment of PWS requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractors, to the extent allowed.
  • Ability to work on site 5 days per week.  This is not a remote role.
  • May be asked to support other programs or perform additional duties.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • U.S. Citizenship (required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (Interim or Final clearance required post-start).
  • Minimum 3 years Configuration Management experience.
  • Experience in multi-engine aircraft aircrew and maintenance training devices.
  • Experience working with engineers, subject matter experts, customers, and suppliers as teammates.
  • Experience working on geographically separated teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 6 + years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Customer knowledge.
  • Understanding of operational and functional attributes of the C-17 aircraft and training system.
  • Strong decision-making skills along with willingness to compromise.
  • Proficient in MS Office 2013, specifically Access, Excel and Adobe.

Salary:   $44.88 per hour

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
